It’s Up!!!

At long last I have the bookcase up and have added lots of stuff onto it’s shelves.  In fact it is already full *shock*  How did THAT happen?  I know I know, I am a hunter gatherer!  Definitely want to get another one of these, but it will be some time off.  I am very happy that the room is more spacious with less cumbersome furniture in it.

I have managed to relocate my cane display case into a corner of the loungeroom, so that has also given me some new floor space and a place for my beloved Missy’s bed 🙂  Now she can reside in comfort near me when I create.  She is VERY happy about that.  She has already tested it out whilst I have been clearing out a cupboard or rearranging things on the bookcase.

Ok, better dash and run some errands before I go off to work.  Will find the camera, which is still buried on my craft desk somewhere, and take some pics tomorrow.  See you then!

Keep Smiling and Stamping,

Maggie

A Long Day….

Ok, it’s official, I am pooped.  I never realised how much of a job a revamp of my studio was going to be.  After getting the computer and desk out the day before, I thought today was going to be a breeze.  Think again.  I never realised now much ribbon I have purchased over the years and not used *red face*.  You know the story, gotta have it but can’t possibly cut and use it cos it is too pretty!  I have culled and given away a lot of it and the rest I am revamping the storage of.

I started, yes you heard right, I started to put the bookcase together today.  I opened the instruction book and took out ALL the pieces of wood and hardware and thought, hmmmm lots of stuff here.  Now anyone who knows me well, knows I have had considerable experience in putting together flat packed stuff in the past.  My major problem is I get to the end and usually have bits left over LOL.  BUT, in my defence, the item still worked well LOL.

So armed with all this stuff I set about matching the hardware to the diagram of them in the manual.  Mission accomplished.  I went from steps 1-5 in 30 minutes, not bad, but took 1 hour to get to step 6 hmmm.  Well it really isn’t easy to hold stuff together on ones own, line up nails and drive them home, and don’t even get me started on the lack of space and the awkward positions I had to work in.  No wonder my shoulder is sore tonight.  So tomorrow I have to put on the shelf supports on the two fixed shelves, add the decorative moulding and fit the adjustable shelves.  Oh and get it off the floor and stand it up.  Will definitely need help with that job.  Fingers crossed I can get this accomplished AND get my stamp collection in it BERFORE I have to go to work LOL.  I’ll keep you apprised of developments and I hope to uncover the camera so I can post some pics of the changes.

Keep Smiling & Stamping,

Maggie

A Dream Come True

Yes, I know this was the name of a SU stamp set.  In this case, I am talking about a personal dream come true.  I have coveted mac computers since 1989 and I have finally gone and bought one.  Thank you Stampin’ Up! for assisting me with this dream!!!!!!

I am now the proud owner of a shiny white macbook.  After all the years of checking them out, I am now able to put into practise things I have learnt, and continue to learn first hand.  There is a learning curve to switching from PC’s to MAC, but it is easy.

Now I have the task of setting up all my programs and documents so I can work from the MAC full time.  It has been great fun these last couple of days.  Mail will take a bit longer as I am waiting on a particular program to do so.  Then it will be full steam ahead.

One of the major reasons I wanted the macbook is so, like right now, I can sit by the fire when it is cold, or on a nice day sit outside and still work.  Portability and less space taken up in my craftroom.  A wonderful thing!

Hope you are all having a great day and that YOUR dreams come true.  Till next time,

Maggie
