Today is the first day of spring (yes, I know there are those who love to wait for the equinox, but not me). I got up today and the sun was shining and the birds were singing…at least for a few minutes *smile*

Keep Smiling and Stamping,

It was my dear friend Julie’s birthday yesterday. To help her celebrate I made her a Tri Shutter Card – my first. I am so excited to have finally bitten the bullet and made it. Special thanks goes to Leonie Shroder for the kick in the pants to make one, and to Beate Johns for her very helpful video. I certainly am a visual person and I love to “see” something created.
I hope you had a lovely day yesterday Julie, even if you did have to play “mum’s taxi” last night. I hope the family spoilt you rotten.

Bella Bleu Tri Shutter Card
I used the lovely Bella Bleu DSDSP to decorate the card, pearls from the Pretties Kit, lots of layers and piercing with the SU template. Tell me what you think.
Til next time, keep smiling and stamping.

One of my work colleagues had a birthday last Monday and this is the card I have made for her. I have used one of my favourite colour combos of Regal Rose, Rose Red and Old Olive. I stamped the cupcake from Party Hearty using my markers in Regal Rose and Creamy Caramel. The candle is Rose Red and Creamy Caramel. I stamped the cupcake image twice and cut out the icing and placed it over the first image using dimensionals. I have layered several layers of cardstock and the pink spotted DSP is from Sweet Always DSDSP. I added some Old Olive Ribbon and used the Birthday greeting from the new Spring Mini Catty, which I punched out using the mid sized Oval Punch and complimented this with using Old Olive Cardstock to punch a oval Scallop. I then stamped the cupcake in the same colours onto my whisper white envelope. I love to have my envelopes to match my cards. The recipient gets a sneak peek at what is inside.
I hope you have had a Happy Birthday Dianne and that you like your card.

Til next time, keep smiling and stamping.
Cheers,

I love to create ATC’s or Artist Trading Cards. What are they you ask? They are small works or Art created to trade or swap with others. Over on the Elite Stampers Forum, headed by Angela Sargeant, we have monthly challenges. This is Angela’s Stampin’ Up! downlines forum. I have taken part in a few of these challenges this year. It is always fun to see what others come up with. The variety of work is amazing and inspiring. I thought I would share my cards with you.
This is the swap I created for Februarys challenge. The topic was Stampless. At first I thought, what on earth can I make that has no stamping!!! *shock* If you sit down and think about it, it isn’t actually as difficult as you first think.
This card is just squares of patterned paper set out like a quilt. I have done some faux stitching around the edges to make it look sewn together. Originally I was going to “sew” around all the “seamlines”, but I felt it looked overdone and only did the outer edge. I have added some ribbon and hodgepodge to complete.

Over the coming weeks I will share some more with you.
Cheers,

I made the decision earlier in the year to not go to our annual Stampin’ Up! Convention. I can’t believe how time has flown by and those that are going will be making their way to Canberra this coming Thursday. I know that they will be in for a brilliant time of fun and fellowship. They will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of Stampin’ Up! I can’t wait to hear all about it and girls/guys (yes, we have male demos) I wanna see pics!!!
One of the online groups I belong to have organised an event called “Unconvention” for those of us that will not be going to the main event. We will also be having “Make n Take” projects, business tips, swaps etc and we get to do it staying at a luxury hotel aka “home” and will share our accommodation “virtually” with another demonstrator. This is a fun way to get to know someone else. I look forward to getting to know Caroline. I’ll put a link to her blog when I find out the addy later.
Speaking of swaps, I better get my butt into gear. Finally worked out what I am going to do. Nothing like putting last minute pressure on myself LOL. I will come back in the next few days to share some crafty stuff with you. I better get cracking on making the swaps…all 20 of them!!!
I hope everyone is enjoying the Easter weekend. I am still doing my nursing shifts, but have found some time to relax as well. I made this card and Easter treats on Thursday. The choccies are going to the staff I am working with tomorrow…shhhh…don’t tell them in advance
Firstly, the card. Not sure it is exactly what I had in mind in the first place. This will be going to my mum. She has been unwell with a virus over the past few weeks, so hopefully she will be feeling better soon. Maggie’s mobile lunches hit the road today to help her out.

Happy Easter Card
I have used the stamp set called “A Good Egg” for this one and did some paper piecing. I blinged it up with some crystal effects and dazzling diamonds glitter.

Easter Treats
Again I have used “A Good Egg” stamp set to create a tag and punched it out with the 1 3/8 circle punch which I layered onto a Tempting Turquoise Scallop Circle. I then added the dots with the white gel pen.
Thanks for looking and I hope you continue to receive the blessings of Easter. Stay safe on the roads if you are out and about.
Keep Smiling and Stamping,

When I got the chance to preorder some new stamp sets from the new catalogue, I jumped at the chance. Particularly the Level 3 Hostess Set called Window Dressing. I had so many ideas swirling around in my head for how I would use it. The following card took me 2-3 days to complete. I would get stuck on what I was trying to achieve, so walked away and left it on my desk. I would return periodically from other activities around the home – read chores – and just look at it and try to determine what I needed to do to complete the task. Oh how I wished for some new In-Color ribbon to match it.
I stamped the image twice and coloured only the shutters and semi circular window at the top on one image and layered the second image on top. I scored the shutters on the upper image so they are actually raised up at the sides. This may not be too evident in the picture, but hopefully you get what I mean. Anyways, here is my finished card. Let me know what you think of it.

Window On The World
I was trying to work out what it reminded me of. I finally have it. It reminds me of Holly Hobby from years ago, especially with the spots in the background. A classic kind of look.
Supplies:
Stamps: Window Dressing, Spotted BG
Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Close To Cocoa, Watercolor Paper
Inks: Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Close To Cocoa, More Mustard, Old Olive, Ruby Red, Black Stazon
Other: Dimensionals, Snail, Aquapainter, SAMJ, Bone Folder (to score)
Cheers,

Yes, the day has finally arrived. Talking with other demonstrator friends, we all felt like last night was the REAL New Year’s Eve LOL. Some even had champers. Me, I got home from work and was happy to drink cordial/water as I was a bit dehydrated.
I have placed my order a little while ago. Now the waiting game begins again. I’m sure all the Australia Post staff are trembling in their boots right now as obsessed demos and customers stalk them for their new supplies *LOL*
I have put a link to the new catalogue on the right hand side of my blog so you can go and check it out online for yourselves. Don’t forget to contact me if you want your own personal copy to browse through. I have put post it notes everywhere in mine. I decided to take a copy to officeworks this year and get it spiral bound and have clear plastic covers put on it. I pick it up tomorrow morning, so will show you then how it turns out *grin*
Off to work soon, so will update with another card I have made later.
Keep Smiling & Stamping,

My good friend Issy from school days recently celebrated her birthday. I wanted to use one of the new stamp sets to make her card. I decided to use the set Bloom Away. As soon as I saw the Gum Blossoms stamp, I knew I just had to buy this set on the demonstrator preorder. When I was growing up we had lots of gum trees and one of my favourites was a lovely soft pink in colour. I have used the new in colors of Kiwi Kiss and Pirouette Pink to colour the blossom in and used Basic Gray and Going Gray for the card. The background stamp is called sanded.

Gum Blossom Birthday
If you would like a copy of the new Idea Book & Catalogue 2009-10 let me know and I can arrange that for you. It is chock full of lovely stamp sets and accessories. I just love the new In-Colors and I am sure you will too. Stay tuned for more projects in the weeks and months to come, which I hope will inspire you to get your supplies out and play. Winter will be here before we know it and I for one will be tucked in my studio creating up a storm!!!
